Biography

Senior Level: Creative Director/Art Director:
Ben Marshall is an award winning Creative Director/Art Director.
His diverse background includes a wealth of experience in television, print, digital, graphic design, fine art and music.  Marshall was Art Director at BLACK ENTERPRISE magazine. In addition to managing the art department, he directed photography and illustration for the ground-breaking publication. He is credited with redesigning the magazine to reflect a more contemporary, millennial look.

Experience:
Marshall joined the UniWorld Group, Inc., where he developed and art directed print advertising, television commercials, and web based projects for the company’s extensive high-profile roster of clients. Marshall became a Creative Director leading Hispanic, African-American and General
Market creative teams. On several occasions after the company was given a small assignment, Marshall delivered beyond client expectation, which helped increase the company’s revenue. He created campaigns that would become the direction for other agencies to follow. He also contributed to the musical direction and sound design of commercial tracks.

Major Contributions:

In 1991 Marshall was chosen to design the presidential Medallion for Nelson Mandela. He was one of the first to develop an untraditional approach to urban advertising for the Coors Brewing Company that lead to record sales in the mid 90s. The social responsibility campaign for that campaign was featured in a major motion picture, became a collector’s item and was featured in a prominent trade publication five years after it ran. He is the recipient of a number of prestigious advertising  awards including an Effie and a Telley for a United States Marines campaign.

Marshall has a talent for turning desperate situations into victories, working well with the most difficult clients and making it all look easy. Because of his diverse background he can execute in all areas of creative. It didn’t take long before the brand managers at AstraZeneca and the United States Marine Corps. noticed his high level of output, creativity, and passion for their business. He created more with less and had a major impact compared to other agencies providing the same service. He was eventually requested to critique other agency’s creative efforts to help cut costs and increase production value. He was also asked to direct, shoot and develop online image libraries for AstraZeneca and the Marines that all of their respective agencies could access. The image libraries were created for the African-American, Hispanic and General Markets.

Education:
Marshall graduated from the DuCret School of the Arts with a double major in advertising and fine art. He studied painting with Peter Caras, an apprentice to Norman Rockwell. He is continuing his education in the digital-online area to keep up with current technology. Ben Marshall brings a deep sensibility and understanding both artistically and conceptually to advertising. This gives him the ability to execute and manage from concept to finish and deliver beyond expectation.
